- 1 spoon Dhaniya
- 1 spoon poppy seeds
- 3 spoons Coconut
- 1 spoon red chilli powder
- 2 cloves
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 5 garlic pods
- little coriander
- 4 Aloo boiled and cubed
- 2 onions sliced
- 2 tomatoes cubed
- as required Salt
- 1 cup water
Instructions to make to make Masala rice with aloo gravy
- Grind all the ingredients under masala paste for rice with little water into a smooth paste. Heat a pressure cooker and add oil, cardamom pods and bay leaf. Now add the sliced onions and sauté.



- Once the onions are translucent add in the tomatoes. Once the tomatoes are cooked add the masala paste and fry for 2 minutes. Add the slit green chillies and fry.



- Add the washed rice, water and salt and pressure cook it on high flame for 2 whistles.


- Allow the pressure to release naturally and fluff it up and rest for 15 minutes.


- Grind all the ingredients for masala paste with little water into a smooth paste as shown in the pic. Heat a pan and add oil, and add sliced onions and sauté.



- Add the tomatoes and cook until it becomes soft. Add the grounded masala paste and fry until it gets separated from oil.
